Shohei Ohtani of the Dodgers hit the 176th home run of his MLB career. That’s the new record for a player born in Japan, passing Hideki Matsui. I’ll note that Matsui came to the majors in his age 29 season, at the end of his prime. Ohtani arrived at seasonal age 23, so he got to spend his entire prime in the major leagues.
The Dodgers beat the Mets 10-0.
