Friday’s LCS games brought a small change to the top five of the Baseball Musings Batter Rankings. Bryce Harper of the Phillies went 0 for 3 with a walk and two strikeouts to drop to fifth place as the Diamondbacks took the game 6-5 in another last at bat win. Harper’s teammate, Trea Turner went one for three with a walk which left him in third place. Kyle Schwarber, who hits ahead of those two, posted the best game score of the day, a 72. He went two for three with a double, a home run and two walks. Schwarber now ranks 30th.
Yordan Alvarez of the Astros remains in first place after a two for five in the 5-4 win over the Astros. Houston is doomed now that they have to play two games at home in a series where the road team won every game.
The vacationing Juan Soto and Aaron Judge rank two and four respectively.

Just like Houston did in the 2019 World Series. Yep, they’re doomed.
I don’t like the possibility of a wild card winning the series, but it takes the sting out when both teams finished 90-72.
