Mookie Betts cracked a rib and goes on the illjured list indefinitely.
Betts suffered the injury in an outfield collision with center fielder Cody Bellinger during the Dodgers’ 4-1 win over the Angels on Wednesday. Roberts said the team doesn’t have a timetable for Betts’ return and they’ll have a better idea when he gets checked in about a week.

Betts owns a 3.3 fWAR which leads the Dodgers. It likely won’t be easy to replace his offense and his defense. However, there are a number of Dodgers underperforming this season. Cody Bellinger, Max Muncy, and Justin Turner all have room to step up and make up for the loss. Even with a poor season by those three hitters, Los Angeles is still in first place in the NL West with the second best record in the NL.
