The Wrist of the Story

Angels third baseman Anthony Rendon needs wrist surgery and will miss the rest of the season.

Rendon informed interim manager Phil Nevin that his wrist was becoming an increasing problem after his at-bat in the fourth inning of Tuesday’s game. He was pulled from the game before the bottom of the fifth inning.

Rendon played 58 games last season and just 45 in 2022. His slash lines for the two seasons are very close with combined numbers of .235/.327/.383. He had not lost his eye for the strike zone. Last year the problems were in the lower half of his body, but the result was the same. There are four years left on his contract.
