The Twins take on the Orioles with Joe Ryan battling Bruce Zimmermann. Ryan is about 50 innings into his career, and owns a BABIP of .182, having given up just 26 hits (six of them home runs) in his 49 2/3 innings. That seems a bit unsustainable. Zimmermann is another pitcher benefitting from the lack of home runs. After giving up 14 in 64 1/3 innings in 2021, he allowed just one in his first 19 1/3 innings of 2022.

The Angels visit the Red Sox with Noah Syndergaard scheduled to face Michael Wacha. Syndergaard was ill over the weekend, but is ready to take the hill again. His strikeouts are down, with just eleven in seventeen innings, but he is still tough to hit, with only ten hits allowed. Wacha also allowed ten hits, his in 20 innings. He limits power as well, with a .243 opposition slugging percentage.

The Giants visit the Dodgers with Carlos Rodon against Julio Urias. Rodon keeps blowing away batters, with 38 strikeouts in 23 innings, leading to just ten hits allowed. Urias’s control has been off early, with eight walks in 18 innings. He two allowed just ten hits, so opponents have done little to advance the free pass runners.
