The Astros finish their series in San Francisco with Luis Garcia facing Logan Webb. Garcia now has 108 1/3 inning MLB innings under his belt with a 3.16 ERA. Nine of the eleven home runs he allowed so far came with the bases empty. Webb, in his third season, raised his K rate in 2021 and brought his hits allowed under control. That helped him drop his ERA to 3.36.

The Sunday night game features a battle for first place in the AL East, as the Red Sox send Nick Pivetta against the Rays and Shane McClanahan. Tampa Bay leads the AL east by 1/2 game over Boston. Both teams picked up sluggers at the trade deadline. Nelson Cruz already homered twice for the Rays, while the Red Sox await the return of Kyle Schwarber from the disabled list.
