Best Batter Today

Jose Ramirez of the Indians stays atop the Baseball Musings Batter Rankings after homering in a 3-2 win over the Cubs. He sits in a four-way tie for most home runs in the AL, as he and Mitch Haniger of the Mariners join J.D. Martinez of the Reds Sox and Shohei Ohtani of the Angels. Haniger homer twice in a Tuesday night in a loss, the Dodgers taking the game 6-4.

Two Dodgers from that game sit in the top five. Corey Seager ranks second after a single in four trips, and Mookie Betts moves into the fifth slot with a double in four trips. Justin Turner falls out of the top five after a contactless night, 0 for 4 with four strikeouts.

Vladimir Guerrero Jr.and Marcus Semien of the Blue Jays each posted excellent nights in a 5-3 win over the Braves to rank third and fourth respectively. Guerrero goes three for five with his eighth home run of the season, while Semien singled twice.

The highest game score of the night goes to Asdrubal Cabrera of the Diamondbacks. He collected four hits in five trips to the plate, including a double and a home run for a game score of 79. Arizona beat Miami 11-3 as a number of Diamondbacks had big nights. Carbrera now sits 49th in the rankings.
