Freddie Freeman of the Braves uses a two home run night to vault into the lead on the Baseball Musings Batter Rankings. His shot in the seventh inning completes a Braves comeback from an early 5-0 deficit as they beat Washington 7-6. Freeman is having a great September, and drove in ten runs in his last two games. In the same game, Trea Turner goes 1 for 3 with two walks to take second place.
Manny Machado of the Padres moves into third place as he goes one for three with a home run and a walk. The Padres win in San Francisco 6-1. Michael Conforto and the Mets have the night off, so he falls to fourth simply due to others passing him in a very tight top five. Anthony Rendon of the Angels returns to the top five with a two for four day, including a double and a walk.
