Bottom of the Ninth

The Indians come to the plate in the bottom of the ninth trailing the Cubs 5-1. They will face Aroldis Chapman, who came in to get the last out of the eighth inning. The Indians struck out 11 times this evening with just four hits.

Update: Chapman walks a batter with two out, but does not allow a run as the Cubs win 5-1. That spoils Terry Francona’s perfect World Series record. He is now 9-1 in World Series games as a manager.

The Cubs hitters drew eight walks in the game to go along with their nine hits. When lots of batters get on base, some get pushed over the plate, and the Cubs pushed five across tonight. They can beat teams in a lot of ways.

No sweep this year! There will be three games in Chicago.
