So Chris Davis gets seven years from Baltimore, and Ian Kennedy (IPK) gets five years from the Royals. I thought the Orioles original offer was good, and it appears that it was Baltimore that blinked, adding $1 million per year to the offer.
Kennedy is a more interesting signing. He’s already in his decline phase, as he’ll play 2016 as a 31-year-old. The money is reasonable, but Kennedy has shown a lot of variability in his career. He’ll give the Royals innings, and they may be great innings or so-so innings. Basically, the Royals locked up an aging third starter for five years, not the best way to spend money.

Lot of deferred money in the Davis deal, its not much more than the original 150 million deal reported earlier
