Lou Lucier, who was the oldest surviving former Boston Red Sox player, has died at the age of 96.
…
A right-handed pitcher, Lucier played parts of three major league seasons during World War II with the Red Sox and Philadelphia Phillies. In all, he was 3-5 with a 3.81 ERA in 33 games.
My thoughts go out to his family and friends.
Lucier only allowed two home runs in his 101 2/3 MLB innings, but he did walk 47. The title of oldest living Red Sox player passes to Bobby Doerr.
