With no team really pulling away from the pack, I was wondering if win and loss streaks had evened out this season. Here’s the longest win and loss streaks for each team, through July 7th.
| Nickname | Longest Win Streak | Longest Losing Streak |
| Royals | 10 | 5 |
| Brewers | 9 | 4 |
| Blue Jays | 9 | 5 |
| Braves | 9 | 7 |
| Tigers | 8 | 5 |
| Astros | 7 | 7 |
| Red Sox | 7 | 10 |
| Angels | 6 | 4 |
| Athletics | 6 | 4 |
| Giants | 6 | 6 |
| Indians | 6 | 6 |
| Cardinals | 5 | 3 |
| Nationals | 5 | 4 |
| Orioles | 5 | 4 |
| Reds | 5 | 4 |
| Padres | 5 | 5 |
| Cubs | 5 | 5 |
| Yankees | 5 | 5 |
| Phillies | 5 | 6 |
| Marlins | 5 | 8 |
| Mariners | 5 | 8 |
| Rangers | 5 | 8 |
| Rockies | 5 | 8 |
| Rays | 5 | 10 |
| Pirates | 4 | 4 |
| Twins | 4 | 5 |
| White Sox | 4 | 5 |
| Dodgers | 3 | 3 |
| Diamondbacks | 3 | 6 |
| Mets | 3 | 6 |
There are a few teams that did much better or much worse than their longest losing streak. The Royals, Brewers, and Blue Jays are up, the Rays way down. For the most part, however, one should not get that excited by a long win streak or disappointed by a long losing streak. Just ask Red Sox fans.
