Curtis Granderson hit two home runs for the Yankees Sunday afternoon, but Alex Rodriguez did not hit any. Instead, he singled, doubled and was hit by a pitch and drove in three runs in the Yankees 12-5, rain delayed win over the Royals. New York poured it on late, with five runs in the eighth inning, when Alex was plunked. He came out of the game after being hit on the forearm. In the three games since hitting home run 599, Alex is 5 for 12. He’s hitting, just not the long ball.
Robbie Cano got his 1000th hit, ground rule double in the 8th.
