Park Versus Santana

Johan Santana is pitching brilliantly again as he works on a one-hit shutout through four innings against the Phillies. He struck out eight and walked two so far.

Of course, because Johan is pitching, Chan Ho Park has a no-hitter through four innings. He’s walked one and struck out four. Do the Mets think they don’t need to hit with Santana on the mound?

Update: Joe Posnanski called for a Santana no-hitter tonight. He may have picked the wrong pitcher.

Update: Murphy doubles with two out in the fifth for the first Mets hit of the night.
