Nationals Three for Three

The Nationals beat the Cardinals 8-1 in the first LCS game in Washington. That puts the Nationals up 3-0 in the series. The 2004 Red Sox are the only team to come back from that deficit.

The Cardinals scored just two runs in 27 innings in the series. Washington pitchers struck out 16 without a walk in the game. They did pick up seven hits in the game after combining for four hits in the first two games. That’s a small moral victory, however. Patrick Corbin will try to end the series on Tuesday night for the Nationals.
