Home and Away

The Orioles defeat the Red Sox 5-4 as Guthrie and the bullpen hold the lead given to them in the third inning. The Orioles go to 11-6 at home versus a 9-13 record away from Camden Yards. The Red Sox drop to 10-13 traveling, having dropped four of their last five. The Red Sox are scoring a run less on the road than at home this season, and allowing a run more per game.

I was at this game & home plate ump made extraordinary number of called 3rd strikes. Could there be a check to see if this was a record. D. Ortiz got tossed for called 3rd strike in 9th. Not sure if such stat is recorded.

The data is recorded, but most of us don't have access. Send an e-mail to someone at hardballtimes perhaps (I'm relatively sure they subscribe to the heavier stats services)?

Nice clutch hitting by Ramirez, grounds into 1-2-3 DP with bases loaded, no out in 7th. Lowell flies out and inning is over.
