Down Under Upset?

Australia just took a 9-7 lead on Mexico in the top of the sixth. Pitching hasn't been on tonight on either side. Mexico, however, is playing at home, so this could be a huge upset in the making.

Update, March 9, 7:51 AM: Australia wins 17-7, stopping the game on the mercy rule. If Australia beats Cuba, they advance. If they lose, they play the winner of the Mexico-South Africa game and advance on a win. Their chances are looking good.

It's all over 17-7. Would never have imagined us Aussies could pull off a win, let alone a flogging like that!

The world has turned upside-down and the men from Down Under are on top! I think this is a lovely start to the WBC for the aussie team who were, like the Netherlands, heavily underrated. But I guess the past 48 hours have shown us that in baseball, anyone with enough heart and will-power can surprise us. Congrats to the aussies from www.baseballtalktv.com

Trevor Schumm had a hand in this victory.
