Pounding Penn Again

The Tigers finally get to Hayden Penn in the fourth inning. They score eight times in the bottom of the fourth, six of them off Hayden. Despite allowing seven earned runs in 3 2/3 innings, Penn lowers his ERA to 27.00.

Has there ever been a worse start to a major league career? In two cups of coffee, Penn's now allowed 26 walks, 11 home runs and 52 runs in 45 2/3 innings. He's struck out just 21.

Yeah, but David, in fairness, Penn *has* reduced his ERA to a *quarter* of what it was after his start against the A's... heh, heh, heh...
