Controlling the Media
The Red Sox are looking to buy into an FM radio station and move the team broadcasts there. The Boston ownership is very media savy, and this would help them control content further. They already own NESN, which I believe will broadcast all locally carried Red Sox games.
Baseball Musings is conducting a pledge drive in March. Click here for details.

It would be great to have WEEI out of the picture from
either a Red Sox owner or fan's point of view.
Satellite radio is broadcasting all the home games of a
team. Owning a radio station would be very profitable as
you can charge more for advertisements. Also you
will have national accounts, not just the local car dealerships.
