A-Rod With the US
As it turns out, this report was a sketchy. Alex Rodriguez now says he will play for the United States in the World Baseball Classic. Can he beat out Chipper Jones for the spot at third base? At some point, will he be put on the roster of all 16 teams?
You can view all the rosters here. It looks like the Netherlands can use a third baseman (and everyone else, for that matter).

Why is Marco Scutaro unaffiliated? Is he going to have a fight to the death with Andruw Jones?
I've got a grandmother who came from the Netherlands; just because I can't hit, field, or throw shouldn't matter.
It looks like China could go for the all - Chen starting lineup... even without Bruce.
Australia just needs four more players to field their starting 9. That should make for a compelling first-round match-up.
My grandmother was Canadian... can I take Eric Gagne's spot if he's not going to play?
Maybe if Cuba stays out, Marco Scutaro could just take the field by himself as "The Man Without a Country."
i really wanted to see david wright start at 3rd for team USA.
If this were a four team tournament (US, DR, Japan, PR or Cuba) with 7 game series it would be at least as interesting.
arod should have to play for a team that's country has less money than he has
