Before the A-rod Bashers arrive, I want to say that this story has been blown out of proportion by the media. Does A-rod have weekly press conferences saying he is or isn't going to play? I don't think so. Instead, newspapers run articles SPECULATING or relying on leaked info about A-Rod. Give me a break.

Also, the quote from Bob Watson, supposed GM of the US team, is priceless: "I don't know what the rules are, but we'll be checking on those."

So the guy in charge of putting a team together doesn't know the rules? That's excellent.

XM Radio (MLB Home Plate) is now saying that Scott Boras has said A-Rod will play for the U.S....

I read the original report in a Dominican newspaper
at 2 AM. It did clearly say Alex had not agreed to play
(at that time) for their team or anyone else's. I think
they just thought it would be a good idea to do it. Of
course, tonight the report is out that Arod will play for
the US. All it means to me is that Gene Orza won. I
just don't like bully tactics.
