White Sox Win

Javier Vazquez shuts out the Tigers for 7 2/3 innings and Bobby Jenks gets Gary Sheffield to end the game with a double play grounder as the White Sox come out of hibernation to beat the Tigers 4-2. Vazquez continues his solid pitching since the start of August. He's now 5-4 with a 2.79 ERA over his last nine starts. Chicago is doing a good job holding on to their AL Central lead despite the loss of Quentin and Konerko. They try to bring the lead back to 1 1/2 games with a win in the nightcap.

Correction: Corrected games up by the White Sox.

They were tied coming into today, the Twins lost, the Sox won, so they're up one now, before the second game.
