Technology Advances
The Mariners posted their media guide online. This is very useful. In the past, you had to be a member of the media to get one or shell out $5. Now you can just look up numbers anytime anywhere without lugging books around. I hope all teams are doing this.
The Baseball Musings pledge drive continues through March. Please consider making a donation.

Some of that info isn't exactly accurate. A friend and I met Steve Garvey when he was a Padre, and agreed he was about 5'8" (including what looked like 1" lifts). The friend bet someone about Garvey's height and agreed to use the media guide as the final arbiter. Garvey was apparently sensitive about his height - he had himself listed at 5'10"! Another Padre can top that: the Padres' media guide from about '92 to '97 listed Tony Gwynn's weight at 199.
