Discussing Clemens

McNamee told Pettitte about Clemens drug use:

Pettitte and McNamee talked in 2001 and 2002 about Roger Clemens's use of steroids and human growth hormone, McNamee's lawyers, Earl Ward and Richard Emery, said Tuesday.

They said that Pettitte, who has acknowledged receiving H.G.H. from McNamee in 2002, will provide the first account of contemporaneous conversations with McNamee about Clemens's use of performance-enhancing drugs in earlier years.

Clemens's lawyer in Washington responded Tuesday with another strong denial that Clemens had ever used performance-enhancing drugs.

I'd say that's pretty bad news for Roger, especially this part:

Emery and Ward said that not only did McNamee and Pettitte talk about Clemens's drug use on several occasions, but that Clemens might have influenced Pettitte the first time Pettitte asked to use a performance-enhancing drug.

"There was a conversation in the gym where Pettitte came over to Brian and told him, 'Why didn't you tell me about that stuff?' " Emery said in a telephone interview Tuesday. "It appeared to be after a conversation with Clemens, but he didn't know what was said in that conversation."

Ward, in a separate telephone interview, said, "Brian discouraged him at first, and then less than a year later he came back and that is when Brian injected him."

It's a good thing Roger dug a deep hole, because he's going to get buried.

What struck me as interesting was this: will provide the first account of contemporaneous conversations with McNamee about Clemens's use of performance-enhancing drugs in earlier years."

In other-words, will there be more people coming foward and discussing Clemens steroid use? Who? Will one of them be Knoblauch?

More posturing from Mcnamee and his lawyers. For all we know, Pettite will deny remembering any such conversation and Mcnamee's credibility will be hurt really badly. Why should Pettite throw Clemens under the bus here, even if he doesnt like him?

So Pettitte & Clemens are no longer BFFs?

I'd like to hear some independent corroboration for such statements, rather than something coming out of McNamee's camp.

What do you mean ?

Pettite knows the truth, knows that his friend and trainer is telling the truth. the decision to come forward and lay it all on the table was made when the idiot clemens played the tape. roger needs an out, good luck finding it. the bullshit blister or hamstring ain't gonna cut it in DC. unless he has already giving a statement to the feds ha can still opt not to do the crime (perjury), and take the 5th on usage queries. Beats jail, ask Barry and Giambi who is happy now.

So McNamee "told Pettitte about Clemen's drug use" at a time when McNamee was trying to sell Pettitte drugs, and then McNamee told Mitchell about Clemen's drug use when the was trying to get out of being punished for selling drugs, and now the fact that McNamee used Clemen's name to try to sell drugs is supposed to somehow:

1) vindicate McNamee against defamation
2) prove Clemens was guilty?

Has the whole world gone crazy?
