Tip Top
The Detroit Tigers survived a Jonny Gomes grand slam to take a 9-6 win over the Devil Rays. Gomes tied the score in the top of the eighth, but the Tigers came back with three in the bottom of the inning to take the game. The Tigers first four hitters combined to go ten for nineteen with one walk. Everyone in the Tigers lineup reached base at least once, Monroe by getting plunked.
