Starting Over
Darrell Rasner gave the Yankees 5 2/3 shutout innings today, throwing 80 pitches. That gives the Yankees five good starts in six games in May. His performance gives the starters a 3.09 ERA in May, after a 5.94 mark in April. Rasner is in line for the win as the Yankees lead 3-0 in the top of the seventh.
Once again, I don't understand Torre's bullpen policy. Proctor comes out of the game after eight pitches. He got the last out of the sixth and the first two batters in the seventh. Did anyone see if he was hurt?
Update: Proctor was ejected.

Proctor got thrown out of the game, he threw at Betancourt
Clemens is apparently now a Yankee, again.
I think it's because Torre is just too tired of losing , Rasner's control looks down this year and without control he's just nothing, and Sexon is a clear candidate for a 3 run shot... guess Torre didn't want to lose in front of Clemens... WOW
From Peter Abraham's blog,
http://yankees.lohudblogs.com/
here's what Rasner's done for the season:
April 8: 4.1 innings, 76 pitches
April 14: 5.1 innings, 78 pitches
April 19: 4.1 innings, 81 pitches
April 24 (for Scranton): 1.0 innings
April 29 (for Scranton): 5.0 innings, 82 pitches
Seems like it was time for him to come out.
Proctor got thrown out for retaliating for Phelps being hit in the back. Of course Phelps got hit for being a jerk and running over Johjima on the first run scored by the Yankees, Johjima was moving up the first base line when it was clear that the ball would not get there in time for a play at the plate.
Even Michael Kay was saying that Washburn did what he needed to do to protect his player while Proctor was being idiotic.
