Working on the Walk Off

Both the Red Sox and Marlins having men on 1st and 2nd in the bottom of the ninth, trailing by one run.

Update: After striking out two Red Sox to start the inning, Carmona hits two and walks Youkilis to load the bases. They're trying to set up Papi for the game winner again.

Update: Loretta doesn't give Papi the chance. He hits the ball off the Green Monster to plate two runs and give the Red Sox a 6-5 win.

Update: Wagner strikes out Cabrera on a high, outside, 99 MPH fastball. The Mets also take a razor thin 6-5 victory.

Update: Wagner strikes out Uggla for the second out. Girardi pinch runs for a pinch runner to get even more speed on the bases! It's up to Cabrera.

Meanwhile, former Red Sox Hanley Ramirez strikes out on a foul bunt after Wager gave up a hit and a hit batter to start the inning.

Really pathetic pitching by Carmona athere. Hitting two batters, walking a third...then Loretta comes up. Nice work, Cleveland.

Is Cleveland intentially trying to throw the AL race. The trade of Wickman makes no sense unless seen in the light of a Theo Epstein inspired conspiracy to throw wins the Red Sox's way. I hope everybody in baseball can now see the idiocy of Clevelend's GM Shapiro.

Yeah, it's not like Pittsburgh or Philly tried to throw the AL East race to the Yanks by trading three players to them for a couple of buckets of balls and some rice cakes. Hey, I heard the Yanks even threw in a couple of coupon books for the local Piggly Wiggly for good measure. Idiocy is not confined to Cleveland.

Where do you conspiracy idiots come from?

Right- the Indians are purposely trying to "throw" games. I'm surprised you're able to type out this concept after dragging your knuckles along the ground all day.

The indians are not trying to throw games. They saw that their season is basically over, so they traded Wickman for young guys. Same as what Philly did (though that was basically a salary dump)
