Braves at 10

The Braves scored in every inning against the Cardinals tonight, reaching 10 runs in the fifth inning. Andruw Jones drove in half the runs with three hits, including a homer. I wonder what the record is for consecutive 10 run scores?

Update: The Braves score 3 in the sixth to make the score 13-1.

Update: Jason Marquis is allowed to take a beating for the second time this year. He gives up two hits in the sixth before he comes out of the game. Just to finish his night off, the bullpen allows the runner they inherited from Jason to score. He's charged with 12 runs. He allowed 14 against the White Sox earlier this season. Almost 30% of the runs Marquis allowed this year came in those two games.

the braves

I wouldn't give up on the braves even in August of a pennant year and the braves 12 games out.

the mets haven't been in a pennant chase before and the braves have a way of clawing their way back into these things against inexperienced clubs.

the braves still have a lot of talent and a lot of pitching and the venerable Bobby Cox is a HOF manager.

Andruw Jones earned our Linescore of the Day on thebaseballzealot.com, despite him not being able to get into the All Star game, in a game that counts.
