Taguchi Tags Gallo

So Taguchi drives in the winning run in the bottom of the eleventh as the Cardinals send the Astros 7 1/2 games out of first place. David Eckstein loaded the bases when he was hit on the hand with a pitch. We'll keep an eye out to see if his hand is okay.

I really don't understand why Mike Gallo has a job in the major leagues. Sure, he throws with his left hand, but he can't even get lefties out. Surely there's some quad-A hurler out there that the Astros could pick up.

But I hope they stick with him! Go Cards.

So far Gallo has pitched 15.2 innings, yielded 10 ER on 25 hits with a 2.04 WHIP and .385 BAA. He is, however, serving his goal of getting lefties out, as righties are hitting .400 off him as opposed to lefties hitting a mere .360.

He's got a roster spot with Clemens name on it.

gallo has a job because phil has a thing for leftys

there isn't any lefty worth a bucket of warm spit in our minors

and yeah, a lot of fans want us to trade jason lane for a loogy. i bet phil does too
