Devil Rays Win

Mark Hendrickson pitches the first complete game of the season, shutting out the Baltimore Orioles 2-0. Hendrickson used just 106 pitches to pick up the win as he allowed just three hits and a walk. It's the second shutout of his career.

The Orioles (no matter how much their lineup has changed) never seem to hit Hendrickson. He's like John Butcher.

The Orioles really dropped the ball. This might have been Hendrickson's destiny to the win this game no matter what, but the Orioles didn't do much to make it difficult for him. They showed crappy plate discipline all night. The power to get through the tough Hendrickson and into the deplorable Rays bullpen was the with the Orioles from the beginning. But they fly out on first pitches 7 times in the game, not running up Hendrickson's pitch count or seeing what else he had to offer.

First time I've heard powerful and Hendrickson in the same sentence :D

But every pitcher has his day. Hendrickson is smart, hopefully he keeps mixing it up.

Well I guess I still haven't. Somehow misread tough and powerful. I guess he can be tough, same way Grade 9 French is tough to some.
