Crap, Joe Morgan's announcing.

Interesting delivery by the Cuban pitcher. I wonder how he pitches with runners on; does that extra hesitation make it easier for base stealers or is he in a position to see the runners and cut them down -- or would that be a balk.

In the past decade, I keep hearing about these great Cuban players that we can never see. I've found it fun to watch Cuba play and see their style and that they're really able to beat everybody. Now they have a chance to be champions of the world itself. I'm loving it!

...which makes it all the more sad that Fidel won't let them play in the Majors.

it was really exciting the DR team was to watch even after losing Pedro, Manny and Vlad all in one week. I think DR would have done much better if Pedro (healthy Pedro) would have been on the hill instead of Rodrigo Lopez...

Manny Acta, the DR manager, seemed to fall into the (seemingly bad luck) trap of changing his running strategy. Twice the DR didn't send runners resulting in double plays that saved Cuba. The next time there were runners on, Acta decided to send the runner (possibly thinking that he couldn't stand seeing another double play) ending up with a strike out-throw out double play.

Hell of a game, though.

What's truly sad is how fidel won't let his people be free so they can do what they choose to do.
