Games of the Day
There's a good pitching matchup in Houston tonight as Aaron Harang faces Roy Oswalt. Harang is part of the resurgent Reds team that has one of the best records in baseball since the break. He's only allowed 2 runs in his last 14 innings pitched. Oswalt's been human lately with a 6.38 ERA over his last four starts.
The slugfest of the day goes to the Baltimore-Toronto game. A couple of months ago, this game looked like it would be an important one for the AL East race. Instead, tune in and watch hitters light up Hayden Penn and Dustin McGowen. Both have ERAs over 6.00.
Enjoy!

David,
When you predict high offensive games it often doesn't come about. I'm going with 3-1.
I get the feeling that Cincy's offense is ready to roll. They've been shut down both games in the series so far. Sure, one of the Houston starters was Pettitte, but the other was the very mortal Wandy Rodriguez.
Besides, Oswalt has to lose to the Reds sooner or later, right?
BTW, there already was a 3-1 game today. Phillies beat New York.
Well it's already 5-3 going into the bottom of the ninth. Penn didn't do too badly only 2 ER in 5 innings. But then again way too many baserunners. Then again it hasn't exactly been a slugfest either
:-) unless the Jays really tee off on BJ Ryan.
Well, Cincy's offense has continued to slumber: one run through eight innings. Which is why you don't use my ideas to bet on baseball. And wouldn't you know, the score is 3-1.
The Reds boast an impressive offense. The way Houston has shut them down shows how dangerous the Astros might be in the postseason, if they get there. That rotation can clamp down anybody.
Lidge wraps up an impressive three-game sweep with an easy save. The Astros really have the Reds' number. They outscored Cincy 18-2 in the series.
The Astros' next opponent is that team from St. Louis. Somehow, I don't think Houston will outscore them 18-2.
