What to do With Soriano
The Dallas Morning News looks at the options the Rangers have with Alfonso Soriano over the off season. I thought this was a bit funny:
Keep him: Given the dearth of pitching, perhaps the easiest way to make the Rangers better for next year is to keep every offensive weapon they have in case they have to try and outscore opponents again.
While grammar mavens are recoiling from the "try and" construction, I'm wondering when in the past the Rangers won games by not trying to outscore their opponents?

An excellent point. Who goes into a game thinking "if I get three runs and they get four I win?"
And I'm one of those grammar mavens; you might call me a "strict constructionist."
By the way, Texas is 7-4 since Rogers' suspension for the million-dollar shoves began. That's much better than the team's record for the two weeks just before Rogers started serving the twenty games. Maybe the team can get MLB to add a few more games to the suspension.
I don't understand why Texas doesn't comprehend that offense is their most easily replaceable commodity -- as you pointed out, when has Texas not tried to outscore their opponents? Or, to put it another way, when has Texas failed to have a potent offense?
Until their offense actually becomes a problem, pitching should be their only focus, each and every offseason.
