Royal Flush
The Kansas City Royals completed a sweep of the Los Angeles Dodgers last night, a come from behind 9-6 victory. That makes the Royals 11-4 under Buddy Bell.
It's too bad KC fans missed a good series, and only 52,000 fans showed up for the three games. They missed a rare opportunity to see the Dodgers and a rare opportunity to see a KC sweep.
Players are putting up good OBA's under Bell. They are scoring runs without Mike Sweeney as well, who's now out with an arm injury. If he comes back strong that will make the offense even better.

Sure, it would have been nice to see more fans come out for the series. But a 17,595 average for a weeknight series is not that bad, given the truly awful way the Royals have played for most of the past two seasons. If they continue to improve, they could see some pretty nice crowds.
Maybe, but like people have been noting in Chicago, good performance doesn't necessarily mean good attendance numbers. When the Royals went crazy in 2003, the season totals were only up like 10,000-15,000 more than usual.
Only 10,000-15,000? Did I read you correctly? Only? That's one heck of a high bar to set if "only 10,000-15,000" more isn't high enough to create good attendance numbers.
BTW, that was on weekends. I well recall articles bemoaning the fact that the Royals still weren't drawing well on weekdays.
Dave just isnt happy unless he can complain about the royals attendance, a wednesday night game last week pulled in 21,000...... he expects 35,000 to see a last place team. DAVE SHUT UP
