800 And Counting

Congratulations to Tony La Russa who won his 800th game as the Cardinals manager today. He fell just two shy of that mark with the Oakland Athletics.

This was a great game. Both Santos and Marquis were dominant through 8 innings. Marquis in particular was setting up Brewers' hitters excellently with his inside-outside selection.

Santos was let down by one terrible defensive sequence -- Brady Clark muffs a tough fly in right-center, bobbles the pick-up, and doinks his throw home off the cutoff man's glove. If he does only ONE of those things right, the Cards don't tie it and might not win it.
