Veterans Hall

Powered by audblogaudio post powered by audblog

In the audio, I discuss Gil Hodges as a candidate for the Veterans Committee vote on the Hall of Fame.

Update: The Veterans Committee failed to elect any players this year. Hodges and Santo each received 65% of the vote. They needed 75% to win enshrinement.

I am sick to hear Santo didn't make the Hall! I figure this year was his best chance to enter the hall...alive. Baseball wastes another golden opportunity to shine. It would have been a great story that took the steroids topic off the front page. But I guess baseball wants to discuss Cansaco and expose more incompetance!!

Can I ask a question in this forum...?

I am trying to research the rules of baseball and need to find a comprehensive source.

For instance, has it always been a rule that Intentional Walks required the actual throwing of the 4 pitches before the runner was awarded first base...? If not, when was that rule adopted...? Where can you go to find out stuff like this...?

Thank you.
