So much for the improved Boston bullpen. Timlin, Embree and McCarty combined to give up 6 earned runs in 2 innings. Timlin's ERA is now 16.20 as he picks up the loss.

Toronto gets in the win column with the 10-5 victory. Their bullpen did well in relieve of Lilly, giving up just 1 run in 3 2/3 innings, allowing just a HR and a walk.

In defense of the Red Sox, they played 13 innings the night before, sat on the tarmac for four hours due to plane difficulties, got home at 7:30 am, got to the park for a 3pm start, and I wouldn't really count Dave McCarty as part of the "improved Boston bullpen" anyway.

First of all I am a diehard Yankeefan and I think the Boston bullpen sucks! Boston will win less than 50 games this yea with no bullpen.

Zach, Zach, Zach being as you were a Yankee fan I was going to let it slide but what upsets me is that your trying to say they will only win 50 games. We have a proven closer and everything will even out with time. We won us 94 games last year and that was with very little bull pen no closer and no Curt. The Red sox will un doubtedly end the curse this year and win close to 100 games if not more. I suggest you shut your trap. - PJ die hard Red Sox fan
