Glanville's Getaway

Another ballplayer who should be blogging. Doug Glanville writes about his trip to South Africa for ESPN.com.

As a Cubs fan, I know I'll miss Glanville's quotes after games. He's a great guy, and I wish him the best.

I started following Glanville my freshman year at UPenn, and now that I am still here 6 years later (2d year of law school--fun!), I'm very happy that Glanville is returning for another year of great quotes and wandering around campus. For a time he was probably the only starting center-fielder in MLB that could wander around his local college campus (and alma mater) and only be recognized by 4-5 people all day. Really nice guy--look for the Glanville Phanville to return to Citizen's Bank Park this season!

too bad his baseball skills don't match up to his i.q. actually, i think he's a lot more intelligent than schilling and i'd rather read what he would write to a fan site. i hope he blogs, too. maybe he will when he is finished playing.

He should indeed be blogging; he's got the mild sarcasm down pat.

I wonder if there's a database of baseball players which includes degrees earned. Science and Sys. Engineering might be unique to that group.
