The Giants have pretty good OBAs in their third and fifth slots. If they were able to insert another between those, and move their cleanup power down to the six slot, they’d have a decent four batters in a row generating offense. The #4 OBA is so low that the multiplier effect of increasing OBA in that slot might make a fairly large difference in the team’s run scoring. If the Giants really want to compete for the wild card, they need to find a way to make the heart of their order solid.
