Rookie Reese Olson of the Tigers made the best start of his first season as he blanked the Twins for six innings in a 3-0 Detroit win. Reese has now struck out 58 batters and walked 16 in 60 2/3 innings. Thursday afternoon he allowed just two hits. Limiting hits is something he hasn’t done well this season despite the high K total. The start brings his ERA down to 4.45. At seasonal age 23, he’s moving in the right direction to develop as a solid starter for the Tigers.
