The Pirates continue their series with the Rays as Mitch Keller takes on Shane McClanahan. Keller threw 4 2/3 innings on opening day, and has gone at least six innings in every start since. He walked 12 and struck out 40. McClanahan stands 5-0 in six starts with a 2.12 ERA. Batters are hitting just .153 against him at home.

Max Scherzer returns to the Mets rotation as they face Michael Lorenzen and the Tigers in Detroit. This is just the second time since leaving the Tigers that Scherzer pitched in Detroit. His other start ended in a win for the ace, walking none and striking out 14 in eight innings. We’ll see if Scherzer can do something similar without the sticky stuff. Opponents are hitting .310/.375/.534 against Lorenzen this season in 14 innings. They are only hitting .188 with runners in scoring position, but the three for sixteen drove in five of the eleven runs against him.
