Astr-Nos

The Houston no-hitter against the Phillies continues as Hunter Brown adds two innings to Justin Verlander‘s five. The two combined for two walks and twelve strikeouts as Houston leads 8-0. A Phillies loss and a Padres win completes the NL playoff picture.

Update: Hector Neris pitches the last two outs of the eighth for the Astros and keeps the no-hitter intact. It seems like the Phillies really don’t want to play the Mets in the Wild Card round.

Update: Will Smith (no, the other one) comes on to pitch the ninth for the Astros. Garrett Stubbs, Bryce Harper, and Alec Bohm are scheduled to bat.

Update: The Astros have 17 hits and 10 runs. I wonder if the 17 hits would be the most by the other team in a no-hitter.

Update: Stubbs gets ahead 2-0. Smith evens the count 2-2. He hits the next pitch into centerfield for a single to break up the no-hitter.
