Avila Out

The Tigers fired general manager Al Avila:

Ilitch, who invested millions in the offseason in an attempt to return his team to contention, said he would oversee the search process for Avila’s replacement. Assistant general manager Sam Menzin takes over the day-to-day leadership role.

“I want to re-establish our momentum and progress towards building a winning team and I am driven to find a talented executive to help us do that,” Ilitch said.

The Tigers were not tanking this season, they expected to improve rather than be the second worst team in the league. Javier Baez and the rookies simply did not perform well.

Please, PLLLLLLEEEEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAASSSSSSSSSSEEEEEEEEEEE let KC’s Dayton Moore and everyone he hired be next shown the door. Three winning seasons in 16 years is his track record. He makes Avila look like a genius by comparison.
