Best Batter Today

Tuesday’s games shuffled the top five of the Baseball Musings Batter Rankings a bit. Paul Goldschmidt of the Cardinals remains on top with a sixteen point lead as doubles and walks in five PA against the Rays. Tampa Bay takes the game 4-2 in ten innings. Bryce Harper of the Phillies takes second place with a single and a sacrifice fly in a 3-2 win over the Brewers. Philadelphia is perfect in June, 5-0.

Third place belongs to Aaron Judge of the Yankees, two for five with a home run and a walk in a 10 win over the Twins. With twenty two home runs in 55 Yankees games, Judge is on a 65 home run pace and has a probability of 0.0042 of hitting 62 HR this season.

Mookie Betts of the Dodgers stands fourth as he takes a one for four as the White Sox shut out the Los Angeles 4-0. Pete Alonso of the Mets completes the top five after a hit by pitch early took him out of action. X-rays on his hand were negative.

The best game score of the day goes to Marcus Semien of the Rangers, an 89 in game two of the double header against the Guardians. Semien ranks 33rd after a good day at the plate. He goes four for four in game two with two home runs and a walk after a three for four in game one with a home run. He also managed to steal two bases on the day.
