Paul Goldschmidt of the Cardinals extended his hit streak to sixteen games, tied with Trea Turner of the Dodgers for the longest current streak in the majors. Goldschmidt’s two for three in an 8-1 Toronto win keeps him on top of the Baseball Musings Batter Rankings.

Mookie Betts of the Dodgers zooms to second place after posting the second highest game score of Tuesday, an 84. Betts goes three for four with two home runs and a walk in a 9-4 win over the Nationals. Betts is on a home run tear, slashing .419/.510/1.047 in his last eleven games with eighteen hits, six doubles, and seven home runs.

Manny Machado of the Padres sits in third place after a two for four in a 4-1 Brewers win. Bryce Harper of the Phillies broke out of his slump with a three for five night, including his fifteenth double and tenth home run. Both team score twice in the ninth inning, the Braves walking off with a win 6-5. Aaron Judge of the Yankees rounds out the top five, going 0 for 5 in a 7-6, eleven inning win over the Orioles.

The highest game score of the day goes to Joc Pederson of the Giants, a 95. Pederson goes four for six with three home runs in a game that went from a boring blowout to an exciting slugfest. The Giants got out to an 8-2, and took that lead into the seventh inning. The Mets score twice in the seventh, then scored seven runs in the eighth to take a 11-8 lead. Pederson hit his third home run in the bottom of the eighth, a three-run shot to tie the game. The Mets score in the top of the ninth for a 12-11 lead. In the bottom of the ninth, after a lead-off single and a double play, the Giants get a walk and three singles, including the game tying RBI by Pederson to win 13-12. Pederson drove in eight of the runs.

Twenty five runs was the highest game total of the day on a day that saw plenty of offense. The fifteen games averages 10.87 runs per game, the highest scoring day of the season. It also averaged 3.07 HR per game, the first day of the season to average over 3.0 HR/G.
