Best Batter Today

Paul Goldschmidt of the Cardinals needed ten innings to get a hit on Monday, and it was a big one. His grand slam in the bottom of the tenth beats the Blue Jays 7-3 and keeps Goldschmidt in first place in the Baseball Musings Batter Rankings. He was also rated as the player most likely to get a hit on Monday.

Aaron Judge of the Yankees does gain on Goldschmidt, however, as Judge posts the best game score of the day, a 77. He goes two for three with a walk and two home runs to move into second place, but the Orioles take the game 6-4. Manny Machado of the Padres stands in third place after drawing a walk in five trips to the plate as the Padres stay hot with a 3-2, extra inning win over the Brewers. Pete Alonso of the Mets stands in fourth place after a three for five night with a home run in a 13-3 blowout of the Giants. Bryce Harper of the Phillies falls to fifth place as he goes one for five in a 7-3 win over the Braves.
