Best Batter Today

The top five of the Baseball Musings Batter Rankings show just a slight change, as Ty France and J.P. Crawford of the Mariners flip slots, now ranking third and fourth respectively. France singled and walked, while Crawford went 0 for 4 with a walk as Tampa Bay takes the game 8-7, scoring three runs in the top of the ninth on a Manuel Margot home run, his first of the season. Another Mariner, Eugenio Suarez, posts the best game score of the day as he goes two for three with two home runs and two walks. That was good for an 80.

Manny Machado of the Padres remains in first place, going two for three with a walk in a 3-2 win over the Marlins. Machado posts a two for three night with a walk, and is now batting .382/.458/.657. Juan Soto of the Nationals draws a walk in a 3-0 Angels victory in Anaheim and remains in second place. Paul Goldschmidt of the Cardinals draws two walks in a 3-2 win over the Giants for fifth place.
