One Game Five

The Dodgers beat the Giants 7-2 Tuesday night to force a game five in their NLDS. The two teams play for a trip to the NLCS on Thursday night. The top of the Dodgers lineup came through on offense, as hitters one through four, Mookie Betts, Corey Seager, Trea Turner, and Will Smith each collected two hits, including two doubles and two home runs. On the pitching side, the six Dodgers hurlers recorded just six strike outs, but the defense held as the Giants recorded just seven hits. Neither team was very clutch, as the Giants went 1 for 8 with runners in scoring position, and the Dodgers 1 for 11. The Dodgers had two sacrifice flies, and two home runs with a man on first.

The Dodgers and Giants played each other evenly all season. It seems appropriate that this series would go down to a game five.
