Lindor Hurt

Francisco Lindor suffered an oblique injury Friday night:

Lindor winced after grounding out to second base. He took a few steps out of the batter’s box but then peeled off toward the Mets’ dugout on the first-base side.

Lindor’s first season with the Mets continues to be a disappointment. Oblique injuries tend to take a while to heal, so he may not be back in the lineup until late August. Lindor doesn’t seem to have lost his batting eye, as his walks are good, and he’s swinging less at pitches outside of the strike zone. His strikeouts are up, however, as he misses more when he does swing. It’s an odd combination.
