Five Team Race

The NL East is about as tight as a division can be. The Marlins beat the Mets 5-1 behind an outstanding start by rookie Cody Poteet. That puts the Marlins two games back of the first place Mets. The Braves down the Pirates 7-1, and the Phillies beat the Red Sox 6-2, both team move 1 1/2 games behind the Mets. The Nationals hold off the Orioles 6-5. They sit in last place, but just 2 1/2 games out of first. It’s anyone’s division.

Maybe we can get a five-way tie!
